Application: Underfloor heating installations on solid or wooden floors.
Pipe: 15mm ASB barrier pipe to BS 7291 Part 1, 2 and 3 Class S.
Do not use ASB underfloor heating products for gas, oil or compressed air applications.
Floor insulation: suitable material and thickness should be used to comply with current regulations.
Minimum bend radius: 175 mm for ASB Pex-b pipes.
Expansion (PEX-Pipe): 1% of the length between 20°C and 82°C.
Paints and chemicals: Use only water-based or oil-based paints. Do not come into contact with cellulose based paints, paint thinners or paint strippers, fluxes, acid based descaling agents or corrosive household cleaning products.
Exposure to sunlight: ASB products are not affected by sunlight when used indoors. When used outdoors, they are protected from UV exposure by overmolding or painting.
Pipe insertion: . Plastic pipes must be used for all installations when used and should be fully inserted.
Electrical components: The electrical products in ASB underfloor heating systems are designed for use in UK power supply situations only.
Electrical continuity: If ASB is used in an existing metal system that may have been used for earthing, electrical continuity should be restored.
Collet Clamps: White and grey collet clamps are used with standard fittings to prevent accidental disconnection of pipes. Red or blue clamps provide the colour coding of the pipe. Red and blue clamps should not be used to prevent accidental disconnection of the pipe.
Pre- screed system test: To ensure that the pipes are correctly installed prior to laying the screed, the system must be checked and a hydraulic wet test carried out.
The test should be carried out at 2 bar for 10 minutes and at 10 bar for 10 minutes.
